awesome movie poster friday- the WILLIAM GIRDLER edition!

I nabbed most of these images from a wicked sweet William Girdler fansite I just discovered. I don't know why more horror-schlock fans aren't turned onto him.

Something Is Out There is the title under which Day of the Animals was rereleased after Girdler died. The alternate title and the accompanying poster don't actually tell you shit about the movie.

Attention comic nerds: the artwork for the first Grizzly poster (with the chick sitting by the fire) is by the great Neal Adams. Thrill your friends with your newfound trivia prowess!

"Warning: not for the bloody mary for lunch bunch!" is just plain awesome. And true!

And if you think this list was easy to compile, you're wrong. Watch for our Top 10 (maybe more) Worst Remakes in the near future.

Batman: Gotham Knight

Chris Nolan’s upcoming Batman film gets an animated prequel to the sequel that bridges the gap between “Batman Begins” and the “Dark Knight”. Cool way to generate buzz. The “Matrix” movies, “Van Helsing” and “Chronicles of Riddick” have all gone this route in the past. “Blade Trinity” tried something similar with its deluxe edition soundtrack. A little manga comic in the CD booklet, music CD and a bonus DVD that featured a three minute, Flash-Anime. Only problem was that the extra content had nothing to do with the (awful) film -- just eye candy. It’s surprising there isn’t more promotional material bundled with soundtracks, seems like a sure-fire way to attract casual moviegoers who are also music fans but then again, CD sales aren’t what they used to be...

‘Cloverfield’ Blu-Ray Extras to Be Scrapped?

I can't say that I've ever heard of the website reporting this news, but if it's true I really want to spread the word in hopes that Paramount will give Cloverfield the Blu-ray release it deserves. According to an unconfirmed source, the website listed inside claims that Paramount is scrapping all of the extra features planned for the giant monster movie in order to get the Blu-Ray out in time. Read on for the story and cross your fingers that this isn't true - and if it is, expect a special edition down the line (double dip!)

When work starts anew, the corpses of the workers killed on the site come back to life, in DEADHUNTER: SEVILLIAN ZOMBIES (2003). Beatriz Mateo, Jose Pedro Gil star in this Spanish shockfest. Next, the Keystone State falls victim to another invasion of the flesh-feasting undead, as the middle of DEAD SUMMER (2006) finds a Pennsylvania small town overrun by zombies. The terror mounts as one individual in the midst of a small band of survivors becomes a "person of interest" to the military. SRP: $24.99

Banned on B-D, Now Banned in the UK…

As many of you know, Nick Palumbo's MURDER-SET-PIECES was the first film ever banned here on Bloody-Disgusting, specifically because of the filmmaker spamming our forum (not because of the gruesome content like he claims). Today it was announced that The British Board of Film Classification has banned the DVD release of Palumbos psychopathic sexual serial killer pic, giving it more publicity than it deserves. Too bad more people are going to submit themselves to this _____ film. Read on for the story.
