New Bloody Images From ‘Scar 3-D’

Today we came across a bunch of hi-res stills from Scars 3-D, which still is yet to find a US distributor. You can find a link to all of them inside, but beware - they're freakin' huge! Zack Ford's script follows Bettis' character Joan Burrows who returns home for her niece Olympia's high school graduation only to be confronted with her nightmarish past: at the age of 16, Joan and her best friend were kidnapped and extensively tortured by a serial killer named Ernie Parish. Joan managed to escape and kill her captor, but it appears as though he has somehow come back from the dead, intent on continuing his macabre and deeply disturbing proclivities.

Lo-res Look at Two ‘Giallo’ Posters

Today we caught wind of a new indie film entitled ROTKAPPCHEN: THE BLOOD OF RED RIDING HOOD, which is director Harry Sparks epic, modern retelling of a classic fairy tale that has inspired many interpretations before - but never one quite like this (or so says part of their synopsis). Uwe Boll’s ‘Postal’ Blasts Onto Blu-ray and DVD

Vivendi has officially announced the DVD release of Postal, which stars Zack Ward, Dave Foley, Larry Thomas, and Verne Troyer. DVD Active reports that the Uwe Boll directed film will be available to own on August 26th, and should retail at around $26.99. Extras will include a director commentary, deleted scenes, featurettes ("Raging Bull", "Verne Troyer as Indiana Jones"), and a free Postal 2 PC game. A Blu-ray release will also be available for $34.99 with identical features. Read on for the art.

‘Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’ Blu-ray!

Dreamworks Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the Tim Burton horror musical Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street to Blu-ray on October 21st, just in time for Halloween, according to Blu-ray.com. Video will be presented in 1080p AVC and be accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. No special features have been announced at this time, but expect most, if not all, of the extras from the previously released collector's edition DVD. Stephen Sondheim musical thriller revolves around Benjamin Barker alias Sweeney Todd, (Depp) who returns to London after being deported to find out what happened to his wife and child at the hands of Judge Turpin. When he learns of their terrible fate he joins fortunes with Mrs. Nellie Lovett, the baker downstairs from his barbershop, and sets out to seek revenge.

‘The Sixth Sense’ Gets Blu-ray Release

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the M. Night Shyamalan's horror classic THE SIXTH SENSE to Blu-ray on September 30th, according to Blu-ray.com. Video will be presented in 1080p AVC and accompanied by a PCM soundtrack. No special features have been announced at this time for the release. In the film a boy who communicates with spirits that don't know they're dead seeks the help of a disheartened child psychologist.

Sheen Out, Christensen In For Untitled Twisted Pictures Project

We scored some new details on Twisted Pictures' untitled project once known as TORTURED. We learned this evening that Erika Christensen (Flight Plan, Riding the Bullet, Traffic) is the first to be cast in the film, which is now slated to begin production this August with Rob Lieberman (Fire in the Sky) still at the helm. In addition, we now learned that Charlie Sheen is NOT starring and is officially off the project. Written by Marek Posival, we discovered a more in depth synopsis that reveals just how brutal the film is. Read on for the skinny and a pic of Erika Christensen.

‘Wrong Turn 3: Officially Begins Casting!

We received an anonymous tip this morning from a regular scooper who informs us that Fox Home Entertainment has officially begun casting Wrong Turn 3. In the franchise that begun in 2003 with Rob Schmidt behind the camera, six people found themselves trapped in the woods of West Virginia, hunted down by cannibalistic mountain men grossly disfigured through generations of in-breeding. The franchise continued with Joe Lynch's awesome direct-to-DVD sequel last year.
