Clive Barker’s ‘Book of Blood’ Coming to DVD/Blu-ray

The Original Director's cut of Clive Barker's Book of Blood will be released by Lightning Home Entertainment on Blu-ray disc and DVD this fall. The title will be distributed by Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Both formats street on September 29, 2009. Based on the short stories "The Book of Blood" and "On Jerusalem Street", BOOK OF BLOOD is the latest on-screen adaptation of Mr. Barker's works. The movie will be in 16x9-enhanced 1.78 widescreen with 5.1 Surround sound. Also included is a "Behind the Scenes" featurette running approximately 20 minutes. BOOK OF BLOOD stars Sophie Ward and Jonas Armstrong, and is directed by John Harrison. When a paranormal expert (Ward) recruits "medium" Simon McNeal (Armstrong) to investigate a supposedly haunted house, Simon winds up as a conduit for souls on their way to the afterlife --who carve their stories on his body as a living book of blood.

Halo-8 Entertainment has released the dvd cover art for its upcoming release Pop Skull (review), a manic, twisted, drug-infused and award-winning psychological horror film directed & co-written by Adam Wingard ("HOME SICK"), starring & co-written by newcomer Lane Hughes, co-written and co-produced by E.L. Katz ("AUTOPSY"), and produced by Peter Katz ("MORTUARY"). The film will hit DVD on July 28, 2009 and is also slated for a string of theatrical events tied in with similarly demented horror releases IN A SPIRAL STATE and GODKILLER.
‘The Hills Run Red’ DVD Date and Cover Art

Warner Home Video has officially announced Dave Parker's The Hills Run Red which stars Tad Hilgenbrinck, William Sadler, and Sophie Monk. DVD Active reports that this new horror will be available to own on the 29th of September, and should retail at around $19.99. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extra features will include an audio commentary with Director Dave Parker, Writer David J. Schow and Producer Robert Meyer Burnett, and a It's Not Real Until You Shoot It: The Making of The Hills Run Red featurette.
Megan Fox in a Cheerleader Uniform, New ‘Jennifer’s Body’ Stills

While I'm absolutely sick to my stomach of all of the Jennifer's Body puns, I can't say I'll ever get sick of seeing her in the Diablo Cody penned horror film. Today a slew of brand new stills were scanned from a new issue of Empire Magazine that feature both Megan Fox and her co-star Amanda Seyfried. Dig on 'em inside. Arriving in theaters September 18, the film tells the story of a cheerleader who is possessed by a demon and starts feeding off the boys in a Minnesota farming town. Her "plain Jane" best friend must kill her, then escape from a correctional facility to go after the Satan-worshiping rock band responsible for the transformation.
