Massive Image Gallery for Martin Scorsese’s ‘Shutter Island’

There is some serious buzz already starting behind Martin Scorsese's dark thriller Shutter Island, which Paramount Pictures will be releasing in theaters on February 19. Word is that the film is quite good, although I haven't had a chance to check it out myself. With less than a month until release, the studio has finally released the first batch of images from the flick starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley. It tells the story of two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Ruffalo), who are summoned to a remote and barren island off the coast of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the islands fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane.

Kevin Williamson Spills More on ‘Scream IV’

There have been so many rumors and so much speculation behind Dimension Films' highly anticipated Scream IV, which is supposed to go behind camera this coming April. As of right now, Wes Craven should be directing (again) with Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox all returning to solve another "Ghostface" mystery. IESB caught up with screenwriter Kevin Williamson who not only confirms Craven's involvement, but also chats up some story details. Read on for the skinny.

A HILARIOUS Video Where Scout Taylor Compton Talks ‘Halloween 3′

Joey M. sent us a link to a video on YouTube that's an instant classic in my book. Scout Taylor-Compton, who played Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie's two Halloween films, posted a video chatting about thoughts on Halloween 3. She can't seem to make up her mind and has obviously been tainted by all of the dialogue in Zombie's film. Everything "sucks." "They called me up and they said, 'So we're gonna do H3 in two months, we don't really know our director and we don't have a script'," she says. "I said 'No' because I felt like they were rushing it and feel like they were just gonna make it suck." She continues, "I honestly think it needs to stop. But if its a great script I definitely wanna do it...but Im definitely not gonna do a movie that sucks." Well, that sucks. As Joey points out, wasn't Rob Zombie's sequel a completel rush job? I smell, I smell HYPOCRITE!

Jan 29, Alien Invasion Movie Set in a Newsroom

Hi there. This has been eating at me for a time now so I hope you can help. Trying to find the name of a alien invasion film that's set in a newsroom.

A wee bit about…

...Daybreakers!

As I've mentioned before, I'm not one to get all goo goo over vampires- particularly the ones that are more "sexy" than "monstrous". I mean, I have zippo interest in True Blood. I'm not one to get all goo goo over Ethan Hawke, either, so why did I actually pay to see Daybreakers in a theatre?

Well, I didn't- my mom did, as she treated me during an afternoon out whilst I was home on vacation. Maybe it's because I wasn't expecting much from the film, maybe it's because I like ruminating on the "what about...?"s of horror (what about when zombies run out of people to eat? what about when vampires run out of blood? what about NOT bringing Jason back to life, so he'll stay the fuck dead?), but I was surprised to find I enjoyed it.

Yes, this is a future world in which vampirism has taken over- it spread throughout the populace like the Black Plague or Pac-Man Fever- and the world's blood supply is almost dried up. Hawke stars as Edward Dalton, a scientist charged with finding a solution to this food shortage problem; if the vampires go too long without feeding, they'll devolve from pale-but-pretty to leathery-and-scary. Quelle horreur!

Actually, the animalistic vampires featured are pretty damn scary and I wish there'd been lots more of them. I suppose, however, this isn't a people vs. scary vampires movie; rather, it's more non-jerk vampires vs. jerk vampires with a dash of scary vampires thrown in.

Overall, Daybreakers stylish and violent- and it probably takes itself a bit too seriously, but it's rather nice to see a horror movie in the multiplex that takes itself seriously at all, so I can't complain. Why, I would've been happy even if I had to pay for my own ticket!
