Dead Moon Rising Review

Dead Moon Rising CoverRating: 4.0 Hydrophobic Zombies.

One Sentence Review: Zombie fun from the land of beautiful horses and fast women.

A few weeks ago I got a chance to view Mark E. Poole’s zombie flick “Dead Moon Rising”. I saw this film at a local Fright Night Film Fest in Louisville Kentucky where the picture was made. You could tell that quite a few folks in the audience were locals that had helped with the film. It was very cool to see a zombie film with sights from where I live. I’ve watched a fair number of low budget zombie films, and this one was very well done, especially considering what they had to work with budget wise. My only complaints are the sound was hard to make out in some spots, and the ending seemed a bit tacked on. But what the hell do I know, I’ve never made a film myself so who am I to criticize (other than someone who watched way too many films). There were a lot of laugh out loud lines, and the characters were likable.Tucky Williams Tucky Williams makes a great kick ass scream queen, and Erica Goldsmith is easy on the eyes as well. I look forward to what these folk make next. You have to be a local to truly appreciate some of the jokes, such as how to pronounce Louisville properly, but if you are a Kentuckiana native these gags are golden. I give it four out of five hydrophobic Zombies.
